About & Out – What’s Hot In SoCal Jazz – The Week Of March 16, 2020

Special Notice:

During the Coronavirus, LAjazz.com will continue to do its best to update you as to the status of live jazz events across Southern California. As of March 14, 2020 most touring acts have stopped coming to California and this can be expected to continue for the next 2-12 weeks, depending on further developments. Governor Newsom’s directive of March 15, 2020 will close most bars and regular venues for jazz across California no matter how small with rare exception. Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti isssued an order on March 15, 2020 ordering all restaurants, bars, and live entertainment venues to close through March 31, 2020.  On March 17, 2020, Orange County issued an order essentially forbidding all public gatherings through March 31, 2020.  As of March 18, 2020 the Palm Springs area, San Bernadino County, Ventura County and San Diego County are all shutting down bars, restaurants and clubs through the end of March.

Events listed below are those that have yet to be officially canceled to the best of our knowledge at time of publication.

Governor Newsom has requested all persons 65 and over in California to self-quarantine until further notice.

Be smart and help your local musicians, venues, and neighbors during this period – LAjazz.com will do its part to keep you up to date and informed seven days a week. Be safe out there, and remember what a gift live music is to all of us.
