Percussionist Munyungo Jackson is at Blue Whale in Little Tokyo with a group including violinist Karen Briggs. Canadian pianist Chantale Gagne is at The E Spot Lounge in Studio City. Drummer Alex Snydman is at Squashed Grapes in Ventura. Saxophonist David Wise celebrates a CD release at Viva Cantina in Burbank. The Segerstrom Center For The Arts in Costa Mesa offers an evening of blues featuring John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, and Bettye LaVette. Bassist Bunny Brunel’s CAB is at Alvas Showroom in San Pedro with Virgil Donati on drums, Alex Machacek on guitar, and Nick Smith on keyboards.
